The Comprehensive Movement Disorders Clinic (CMDC) and a Senior Health Clinic (SHC) created new spaces on the UNMH campus for the care and treatment of movement disorders like Parkinson’s Disease.
The 45,500 sf two-story building takes advantage of a steeply sloped site, using the 20-foot grade change to offset clinics vertically to maximize daylight and views. Each clinic has a grade-level primary entrance, dedicated same-level parking, and generous direct access to natural light.
Each clinic consists of three ‘treatment pods’ designed around courtyard spaces that provide natural light and views to the treatment rooms, promoting wellbeing without compromising patient privacy. The treatment pods are laid out in a rational manner based on the use of views and daylight to facilitate intuitive wayfinding.
The project was completed in 2023 and received LEED Silver Certification.
