For this project, we redesigned the interiors and lighting of a gallery space that we had completed in 2007. The space, originally built for the display of large sculptural objects and performance art, was modified to provide more wall surface for paintings while also increasing the amount of on-site art storage and conservation areas.
In plan, four exposed columns and a fully retractable 14’x20′ skylight define the boundary of the central main gallery space. Back-of-house functions are placed behind and below a mezzanine gallery originally designed for the display of glass objects and smaller pieces of art.
