Devendra Narayan Contractor AIA

Founding Principal

DNCA’s founding principal, Devendra has been a resident of Santa Fe and Albuquerque since 1974, and is a registered architect in the State of New Mexico. With a background in the liberal arts and 35 years of experience in design and construction, he approaches his work with an innate understanding of both the tectonics and the poetics of architecture. Devendra founded DNCA in 2002, and he specializes in the design of education, fine arts and performing arts facilities, as well as residential projects. Prior to Devendra’s formal education in architecture, he worked in the construction industry as a builder, site superintendent, and mason for 15 years.

Deirdre E Harris AIA LEED AP

Principal

Deirdre has been a resident of New Mexico since 2001. She joined DNCA in 2004, and her work has included fine arts and performing arts facilities, as well as higher education, hospitality, residential, and adaptive reuse projects. Deirdre is a registered architect and holds degrees in architecture and landscape architecture. She has practiced in both fields for over 25 years, working on a wide range of projects in Canada, California, and New Mexico. Deirdre is instrumental in the programming and ideation phases of our projects, and oversees the integration of sustainable systems, site planning, landscape, and construction document coordination.

Rebecca Wood AIA

Architect

Rebecca joined DNCA in 2023 after practicing architecture for eight years in Portland, Oregon. She is a registered architect and holds degrees in environmental science and architecture. With a focus on materials, Rebecca’s experience ranges from fine arts facilities to adaptive urban development to crafted custom furniture and tableware. In every phase she demonstrates a strong creative ability to turn the constraints of a project into innovative design solutions.

Teddy Huyck AIA

Architect

Teddy joined DNCA in 2023, bringing a background in K-12 and higher education, creative office space, residential, and firsthand construction knowledge. With an undergraduate degree in anthropology, Teddy sees architecture and design as rooted in the human experience and the environment. He desires to create durable buildings that perform effortlessly and sit lightly on the earth. Whether working on a large-scale architectural project or tinkering in his spare time, Teddy maintains a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship.
